SUNDAY SCHOOL

The formal inaguration of the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam   took place at Maramon Convention in 1905.  At present there are more than 1000 Sunday schools conducted at Mar Thoma parishes across the globe.  Tabore Mar Thoma Sunday School operates under the operational guidelines of Mar Thoma Sunday school, Diocese of North America and Europe.  The mission of the Sunday school is in accordance with the goals of Mar Thoma Church Sunday School in Kerala (India). They are:-

• Lead our youngster to Christ.
• Help to build a personal relationship with God.
• Prepare our children to witness for Christ.
• Inspire our children in the study of bible or sustaining Christian life.
• Build loyalty to the Mar Thoma Church and develop identification with organization, liturgy and missionary activity.
• Provide for the future leadership for the Mar Thoma church

Tabore Mar Thoma Church is blessed with a number of talented and dedicated teachers and assistants.  They have committed their time and resources voluntarily to witness our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the students and our community.

The Sunday school starts at 3.00 pm on every Sunday at Holy Innocent Church, Wilbraham Road, Manchester M14 6JZ. 

  Our Sunday school is open to children from 3 to 17 years of age.  Our children sing and praise God almighty during their class time.  New songs are also taught to them.  An offertory is collected during the Sunday school to encourage and nurture the spirit of giving in our children.

Our Sunday school is following a new curriculum developed by Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam, published by the Mar Thoma Sunday School Diocesan Council of Diocese of North America and Europe.
  The general theme of the book is  “ BEING GOD PEOPLE IN GOD’S WORLD  ”

The Sunday school holds an annual talent competition to encourage our children to develop their God given talent and to maintain a healthy competitive spirit among them.  Our Sunday school conducts Vocation Bible School (VBS) every summer, which are both fun filled and spiritually beneficial for the young children.
